Petro Shcherbyna
BIOGRAPHY
Petro Mykolayovych Shcherbyna - Ukrainian political consultant, political technologist, poet, writer, initiator and curator of cultural projects.
Born on July 11, 1983 in the village of Sushki, Zhytomyr region.
Immediately after entering the Institute of Philology of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv (Institute of Philology) started a media career in 2000 as a freelance correspondent of the political department of the UNIAN news agency.
In 2002-2003 worked at the analytical center “Institute of Reforms”, head of the press service. In 2005 worked as a director of the “Center of Effective Advertising” company. In 2005 was the coordinator of the all-Ukrainian charity project “With a book to children” in the Zhytomyr region.

In 2005-2006 worked as the editor-in-chief of the newspaper “Holosiivska Gazeta” – the official publication of the Holosiivska District Council of Kyiv. From 2007 to 2010 held head positions in Kyiv municipal mass media: worked as an editor of the “Authorities and Politics” department, first deputy editor-in-chief of the “Khreshchatyk” newspaper; acting editor-in-chief of the Kyiv City Council newspaper “Ukrainian Capital”. Coordinated external communications of Kyiv Media Holding. In 2008 headed the Information Center of the Kyiv Mayor’s Election Headquarters.
In 2009-2010 initiated the creation of the PR agency “Media Brand” and the Information Agency RegioNews.ua (IA “Regional News”) with a press center in the center of Kyiv.
Participated in 15 election campaigns at the all-Ukrainian and local levels as a political consultant and head of the election headquarters; advised members of the government and heads of regional administrations. As a PR specialist collaborated with the Ukrainian rock band “Druga Rika” and soloist Valeriy Kharchyshyn.
The author of more than 300 publications in mass media, member of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine, member of the board of the international public organization “Compatriots of Zhytomyr residents”.
On June 28, 2023 the President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola congratulated Ukrainians on the Day of the Constitution of Ukraine, reading in Ukrainian a poem by Petro Shcherbyna “Ukraine, Europe with You!”. Petro Shcherbyna’s poem “The whole world will remember heroes of Irpin!” is also on the mural in Irpin. The mural created in Irpin by the IOM (International Organization for Migration) also has a poem by Petro Shcherbyna “Irpin is my home”.
Literary and artistic activity:
- 2000 - winner of the literary competition "Tournament of Poets"
- 2001 – winner of the literary competition "Poetic Winter"
- From 2009 to 2010 worked as the host of the program "Young Literature with Petro Shcherbyna" at the capital radio station "Radio Kyiv 98FM".
- Compiler of the book "Words of the Brave", the book "Rhymed Irpin" (together with Yulia Berezhko-Kaminska), book by Volodymyr Karpliuk, poetic and prose collections of many Ukrainian authors.
- Poems of Petro Shcherbyna are translated into English, Polish and German.
- Initiator of creation and art curator of a number of murals in the Hero city of Irpin, Kyiv region: Literary mural of Irpin ("Unsecret Dinner of Ukrainian Writers"), a mural dedicated to the President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola, a mural to the American engineer Martin Cooper near the Irpin Lyceum of Innovative Technologies ILIT.
- Initiator of organization and holding in 2023 of exhibitions of art works of the Ukrainian painter Matvyi Dontsov and the Ukrainian photo artist Oleg Gryb.
